Combining a theme and flavors that work in tandem, Three Chord Backstage Series: The Allman Brothers Band comes together in the best ways.

Musician Neil Giraldo founded Three Chord Bourbon, and the company’s Backstage Series takes his background and fuses the two. According to the company, the series brings together iconic bands with each of their unique bourbon blends in bottles adorned with the band’s artwork. First released in 2023, their 2024 follow-up includes 11 new releases.

The Allman Brothers Band release was inspired by their legendary “Eat Peach” album and is a blend of Indiana and Tennessee bourbon finished in toasted peach wood. Not only is this an inspired pairing, but finishing with peach wood is relatively rare, and after a single sip, you’ll wonder why this isn’t done more often.

The nose starts with an unassuming sweet and fruit-forward aroma of toffee, peach, apricot, light brown sugar, and honey graham cracker. An underlying toasted oak note begins here and carries through the rest of the sip. The palate features a deep honeycomb note with lighter peach and sugarcane notes resting on top of it. You’ll notice a slight creaminess to the sip that gives it a nice viscosity on your tongue. The finish starts sweet with corn and honeycomb, injecting a slight lemon note mid-finish before gently ramping up its rye spice component.

Though the bourbon’s age and blended components aren’t impressive on paper, its beautiful foiled label, attractive price, and, most importantly, its taste makes it a winner. There’s no denying that it’s a light sipper, and while it doesn’t stray far from its limited number of flavors, it's easy to overlook this because it's a bourbon that simply works. From its theming to its price and taste, Three Chord Backstage Series: The Allman Brothers Band is an easy recommendation.
