This fifth edition of Wyoming Whiskey's National Parks series is a sweet, fruit-focused 5 year old bourbon honoring Grand Teton National Park that continues the brand’s impressive track record.
Wyoming Whiskey is back with the fifth edition of their limited edition National Parks series. Once again, it is a 5 year old bourbon, and this year’s edition honors Grand Teton National Park. The National Parks series continues the brand’s mission of supporting conservation, with proceeds benefiting the Grand Teton National Park Foundation.
Wyoming Whiskey National Parks releases have all featured wildly different and distinct flavor profiles with each release, yet there is one common element: how fruit-focused they all are. National Parks No. 5 once again follows this path. This time, though, orange plays a key role in its overall flavor profile. Its confectionery-like flavors of Sicilian whole orange cake, sugared cherry, vanilla coffee creamer, cinnamon sugar, and milk chocolate keep the sip on the sweet side. There are some soft oak notes present, but they are kept mostly in the background.
After four National Parks numbered releases and one extra Maine-only release, you’d expect to taste more similarities between releases, but Wyoming Whiskey continues to change things up with this series. Though this year’s edition is a little on the thin side, lacking noticeable mouthfeel, the flavors it delivers are thoroughly enjoyable. With the price decreasing $5 for this year’s release, the Wyoming Whiskey National Parks series continues to be some of the best whiskey the company releases.
