Duck Club Bourbon Co.'s debut 92 proof bourbon pairs appealing vintage sporting aesthetics with a flavorful blend of 5-6 year old Kentucky-ryed and Indiana-wheated bourbons, delivering an approachable, value-packed pour that's enjoyable well beyond its outdoorsman-focused branding.
Duck Club Bourbon Co. was founded in 2025 by spirits company Morningside Brands, The Silent Group, and country music artist Riley Green. The brand was created to celebrate the “people who spend time outdoors” and “anyone raised in the tradition of family, land, and time spent outside.” The brand’s two initial releases are blends that range between 5 and 8 years old, sourced bourbons from Kentucky and Indiana, with an emphasis on delivering quality pours at approachable prices. Conservation is a core part of the brand's identity, with Duck Club supporting North American wetland preservation through partnerships such as its collaboration with Ducks Unlimited.
Sporting label design, inspired by 1940s-60s sporting magazine illustrations, certainly starts the sip off in an inspired place. Featuring a blend of two bourbons, one rye-based and the other wheat-based, creates a bourbon that is far more interesting than its price and proof suggest it might be.
The aroma isn’t forceful; instead, it features a surprising amount of range. Cinnamon is paired with red fruit notes, then turns to sharp Butterfinger candy bar, ending with lighter fruit notes of apple and pear, followed by leather and oak. The palate is very sweet, with notes of vanilla, caramel corn, maple sugar candy, and caramel cream candy. The finish sheds the sweetness in favor of cinnamon and nutmeg, with notes of mixed red fruits, leather, and light, dry oak.
Though this is a celebrity bourbon and is highly targeted at the outdoorsman, the bourbon is thoroughly enjoyable for just about anybody. Although its flavor profile is straightforward and lacks ample depth, it offers a nice range of flavors and intensity for its proof. The whiskey’s branding is spot on for its target audience, and even if you’re someone who shies away from the great outdoors, Duck Club Blend of Straight Bourbon 92 Proof offers plenty of bang for the duck… err, buck.
The bourbon in review is from Batch ID #1.
