Full of rich classic bourbon notes, the latest bourbon batch from Pursuit Spirits continues to see the brand become a major player in the world of blended whiskeys.
Pursuit United Bourbon is produced by Pursuit Spirits, whose two co-founders got their start in the world of American whiskey as part of the podcast team at Bourbon Pursuit. The brand has stuck with the same sources and grain blend for several batches now as they continue to hone their blending skills. Of particular note is that while the source of the Tennessee whiskey is not revealed, they specifically point out that it is not from Tullahoma, home of the George Dickel brand.
This latest batch opens with a fantastic aroma that is full of rich classic bourbon scents. It quickly draws you in and gets you excited for what’s to come. As you transition into the palate, these classic flavors continue, although they’re slightly toned down in delivery and intensity. The addition of spiced flavors helps add additional diversity. Ending on a more straightforward track, the finish highlights the trend of spicy and traditional bourbon notes, however, it lacks the same intensity that the sip opened on. The bourbon ends with a light heat leaving you wanting more. Overall, this is a quality bourbon from Pursuit Spirits, especially for the price.
The bottle in review comes from Batch 11CD.
