Delivering heaps of cinnamon and brown sugar, Copper & Cask Small Batch Series Batch 16 is an incredibly easy to enjoy bourbon.

Two years after launching their Small Batch Series, Latitude Beverage now has 16 batches under its belt. While the distillery source isn’t revealed, it’s safe to say that it most likely came from Ross & Squibb Distillery (MGP) based on the mashbill and state of distillation provided. To create this 24 barrel, 2,700 bottle batch, Latitude Beverage chose barrels distilled and aged in Indiana and transported them to their Rhode Island facility for bottling.

The name of the game with Copper & Cask Small Batch Series Batch 16 is keeping things simple. The flavors found throughout the sip are either straightforward or variations of classic bourbon notes. It opens with scents of cinnamon, brown sugar, and various spices, along with a sandalwood note, which helps add balance. The midpoint and finish pull in similar variations of cinnamon and sweet notes, adding in tobacco and rye influence. The flavors are simple in nature, but they all work very well together.

Copper & Cask Small Batch Series Batch 16 is, simply put, a great bourbon. Its focus on cinnamon flavors and brown sugar bring the right balance of sweetness and spice together, while other flavors joining in add additional balance. It doesn’t stray far from more simple variations of classic flavors, and in this case, that’s perfectly fine. What it does deliver is a balanced sip that is incredibly easy to enjoy and pulls you back in for more the moment the sip ends.
