Non-traditional orange notes lead the way in this enjoyable latest release of Wyoming Whiskey National Parks Limited Edition.
Now in its third year, Wyoming Whiskey National Parks Limited Edition No. 3 continues to raise awareness and funds for the National Park system. According to the press release, “the label is inspired by the winding Snake River located in the 310,000 acre Grand Teton National Park.” This year's edition sees the price increase an additional $10 compared to last year's release, which is over a 50% increase from when the inaugural release launched in 2021.
Wyoming Whiskey National Parks Limited Edition No. 3 shares some traits with last year's release, primarily with orange and brown sugar notes, but also adds on layers that are wholly its own. The sip opens with a pleasing combination of sweet notes with mandarin orange and orange rind swirling together with more traditional brown sugar and light honey. Carrying through that same orange note, the palate adds in a sweet wheat component along with introducing a white peppercorn spice that adds an appreciated subtle spice which carries through to the finish. Ending with an essence of orange blossom and more traditional lightly charred oak and a touch of leather, the sip tends to draw you back in for a repeat experience over and over. This is one series that continues to impress and with enough subtle differentiation year over year, it leaves you looking forward to thinking about what the next edition may bring.
