Carrying an increase in price over last year’s release, this Woodford Reserve Batch Proof edition delivers a sip that aims to please the masses.
Woodford Reserve is back with their latest batch of annual Batch Proof Bourbon. Batch Proof clocks in at almost 30 proof points higher than the standard Woodford Reserve, which is 90.4 proof. Like many other limited edition bourbons in 2024, this annual release saw a price increase, going from $130 in 2023 to $150 in 2024. The fact of the matter is, in comparison to many limited editions released over the past year, this is on the more reasonable side of pricing for a limited release.
Thankfully, while the price may have gone up, this year's edition steps up to the challenge of delivering a satisfying pour. For just shy of 120 proof, this edition of Batch Proof is easy to drink, delivering classic scents throughout the sip. Charred oak in various forms is noticeable throughout the entire sip, along with classic flavors of cinnamon and caramel. The midpoint of the sip arrives with a really good mouthfeel, and the nose and finish are delivered with pleasing traits. Overall, this is a really nice bourbon from Woodford Reserve. It may not deliver the intense flavors that some will expect from a barrel proof bourbon, but thanks to its easy to enjoy flavors, it should please the masses.
