Whiskey Row Cask Strength Bourbon is a grain-forward pour that delivers a unique flavor profile and focuses on overall drinkability.
The Whiskey Row brand is a tribute to an area on Louisville’s Main Street called Whiskey Row from 1850 until Prohibition. That same area has since been revitalized with a number of bourbon establishments opening up shop. The company created three whiskeys that are a nod to pre-Prohibition blending methods as part of their inaugural release, including Bottled in Bond, Triple Wood, and Cask Strength. The concept of Whiskey Row Bourbon was initially conceived by Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee Steve Thompson before his passing in 2021. Whiskey Row Cask Strength Bourbon is aged at least 4 years and bottled at cask strength, so proof will vary by batch.
Whiskey Row Cask Strength Bourbon is a grain-forward pour, with an ever-present maltiness that carries throughout the sip. While the flavor profile does include the more typical caramel-vanilla-oak flavors that Kentucky bourbons are generally known for, they aren’t the main focus. Citrus, bread dough, graham cracker, nutmeg, and a touch of orange peel in the finish add layers of flavor to the sip. The malty aspect may be unfamiliar to some, but if you enjoy a well-executed grain-forward pour, Whiskey Row Cask Strength Bourbon is for you.
