A full flavored bottled in bond wheated bourbon that proves even at 100 proof you can make an impact.
Mile High Spirits is based out of Denver, Colorado and is a great example of a distillery putting in the hard work and continually improving their product. A lot of their whiskeys use a unique selection of grains which transform them from being yet another craft bourbon into something much more memorable and one of a kind.
In 2023, Mile High Spirits released a 5 year old Wheated Single Barrel with very limited distribution. In our review, we called it a bourbon that “hits all the right notes.” Despite this bottled in bond version coming in 33 proof points lower and presumably slightly younger, very little gets lost in translation.
It is quite noteworthy just how flavorful this bottled in bond bourbon is. The aroma immediately makes an impact with its chocolate raspberry scent, which is followed by layers of stone fruit on the palate, and a finish highlighted by apple, sweet oak, and pecan pie. This is a bourbon that simply works. It's full of flavor, priced right, and tastes wholly original.
