Highlighting sustainability, Brother’s Bond Regenerative Grain New Batch Bourbon leans into the grain aspect of its name to a fault.

Brother's Bond Bourbon was founded by two American actors - Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder. Probably most well known for their collaborative roles in the CW’s The Vampire Diaries, Wesley and Somerhalder’s friendship eventually led them to create Brother’s Bond Distilling Co. For the release of their Regenerative Grain New Batch Bourbon, the company embraces a four-grain bourbon mashbill and sustainability. The company states that the bourbon is “Crafted from grains grown using regenerative agriculture, this release builds on the brand’s commitment to producing bourbon that not only tastes exceptional but also restores soil health, promotes biodiversity, and supports farming communities.”

The youthful nature of the bourbon is immediately noticeable as scents of corn, fresh grain, and new oak waft out of the glass. A slight Apple Jacks cereal note adds some variety before the sip transitions to an amalgamation of various earthy and burnt flavors. These flavor notes bring intrigue before the sip turns hard towards astringent oak, barrel char, and burnt caramel in the finish. Notes of burnt dryness linger with you as you finish the sip. Aimed at those who value the story behind the sustainable nature of the bourbon, the overall sip comes across as off-balanced and too much on the youthful side.
