Blue Note Rye Whiskey delivers a straightforward sip for a price that doesn’t break the bank.
Blue Note Bourbon is located in Memphis, Tennessee, and currently sources much of its whiskey from Green River Distilling (though the origin of this rye is undisclosed). Blue Note Rye’s sip opens with an aroma of gentle, sweet notes on top of more youthful grain and oak. The lightness carries over into the palate with its sweeter vanilla notes, uniquely one being a vanilla tootsie roll. These combine with light oak and gentle rye spice. Transitioning to its end game, the sip finishes with a more prominent rye spice note which lingers in the form of a sweet heat presence. For the price, consumers are able to pick up a creamy whiskey with a pop of spice that will play well in cocktails or be passable neat. Overall though, it feels like Blue Note Rye Whiskey is holding itself back throughout the sip.
