Penelope Bourbon Barrel Strength has been consistently good from batch to batch, but none have really stood out to me until Batch 7. Composed of a nicely balanced blend of fruit, oak, and spice, at 115 proof the flavors are delivered with near-perfect intensity. As the underlying bourbons start to gain some additional age, the end result smooths some of the prior batches’ rough edges and delivers in all the right ways. If you have not pulled the trigger on Penelope Barrel Strength yet, Batch 7 is a great place to start.
