This time they took their somewhat overlooked wheat whiskey and subjected it to as much as 12 months of finishing time in French Limousin Cognac casks. Utilizing a 95% wheat mashbill fundamentally changes the core of this finished wheat whiskey. There are plenty of Cognac finished bourbons on the market, but a wheat whiskey finished one is far less common. The result is that Old Elk Cognac Cask Finish Wheat Whiskey lacks the instant wow factor that their Cognac Cask Finish Bourbon features, but its more delicate nature shouldn’t be overlooked.
