O.H. Ingram differentiates themselves for how they age their whiskey. The company ages their whiskey inside a floating rickhouse moored on the riverbank in Ballard County, Kentucky. The company claims that “by aging the whiskey on the water, they use the rise and fall of the Mighty Mississippi River and its unique climate to provoke an interaction between wood and spirit that can’t be replicated inside a traditional rickhouse.” You can read more in the press release.
Flagship Bourbon 2021 is the company’s third Ingram River Aged Whiskey to hit the market. This limited edition bourbon is composed of only 10 single barrels, and will only be available in select markets in Kentucky and Tennessee. The resulting sip is quite pleasing offering gentle sweet flavors that intertwine with a touch of spice throughout. While it’s priced on the higher side, the sip results in a bourbon that is hard to hate and will please most who drinks it
