Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, this Woodinville Whiskey Company bourbon released by Lost Lantern delivers a classic well-rounded sip that should bring a smile to most bourbon lovers’ faces.

Woodinville Whiskey Company is based out of Woodinville, Washington, and produces three core whiskey products; bourbon, rye, and bourbon finished in port barrels. Founded in 2010 by Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile, the company was originally guided by the hand of the late Dave Pickerell. The brand focuses on staying local, stating they source all of their grain exclusively from the Omlin Family Farm in Quincy, Washington. The 2024 “Summer of Bourbon” collection from Lost Lantern marks the first time the brand brings a Woodinville bourbon to market.

The nose opens on a mix of classic scents, but it differentiates itself by adding light shoe leather, faint citrus, and yellow cake. These aromas bring a dash of intrigue to the start of the sip and follow through on that same theme as you move to the palate. Bold spice notes combine with burnt caramel and a nice orange zest and vanilla cake, which bring a touch of sweetness to mix things up. The bourbon’s proof starts to become most evident at the midpoint and is reinforced as you move into its spicy and dry finish that lingers with a pleasing heat. Overall, this is a really well rounded barrel proof bourbon from Woodinville that is priced accordingly from Lost Lantern. If you haven’t been exposed to Woodinville before, this is a great bottle to jump into.

Lost Lantern 2024 Single Cask #8: Woodinville Washington Straight Bourbon is a 200 bottle release.
