According to Barrell Craft Spirits, Batch 032 started with two sets of barrels that were blended together over three months. First, a set of 5 and 6 year old barrels that were selected for their creamy and tropical flavor profile was blended with a set of 6, 7, and 10 year old barrels that were selected for their complex and old woody character. After three months of integration, a small set of spice driven 7 year old barrels was introduced to add additional spice and complexity.
With Batch 032, Barrell Craft Spirits delivers another consistently solid bourbon. Like Batch 029, tropical fruit notes are the highlight of the sip, with more traditional bourbon flavors complementing the tropical fruit focus. Batch 032’s aroma is worth lingering on, as its floral introduction transitions to a mix of stone fruit, caramel, tobacco leaf, and sugar candy. While the sip is very nice overall, the nose is the highlight of the experience. Barrell Bourbon batches offer some consistency of flavor profile but are also all unique, and this particular aspect of Batch 032 is what sets it apart.
