SBC #15, 16, 17: Heaven Hill "Wanted" Trio

Breaking Bourbon Award Winning Single Barrel Club picks are selected by Breaking Bourbon, and whenever possible with the help of Patreon supporters. The bottles are made available to Patreon supporters first by pledge tier. If any bottles remain after all supporters have had an opportunity to purchase, they are made available to the public on a first come, first served basis. Each barrel is sponsored by a retailer partner, who sells the bottles directly to end purchasers.

For this pick, we partnered with Keg N Bottle out of California. A California retailer, Keg N Bottle was established in 1981 and having been in business for over 30 years. Keg N Bottle is known for strategically engineered “Liquor Walls” and “Beer Caves.” They carry every different type of liquor imaginable, a wine for every occasion, 1,500 different beers to make you “hoppy,” and over 1,250 different kegs to choose from. Additionally, Keg N Bottle offers national delivery of every single item from their massive selection.

These are our first picks with Keg N Bottle, and our first trio of bourbons being offered at once. Chosen during a visit to the Heaven Hill distillery back in June 2019, these barrel selections were made with three Patreon supporters - Scott M., Justin W., and Josh S.

The smell of the Heaven Hill rickhouse was on point that day, but the taste of the bourbons was even better! Beg as we might, we weren’t able to talk Heaven Hill into letting us bottle our selections at barrel proof. However that was okay with us in the end, as we ended up with not just one...not just two...but three delicious barrels of Kentucky bourbon! Two Elijah Craig barrels and one Larceny barrel.

What makes these so special? Well for starters, two of the barrels are from the revered Heaven Hill Deatsville warehouse! This warehouse is known for producing quality whiskey, and the barrels we chose are no exception. Notably, we did not learn the details of each barrel until after the selection was made.

All three picks exemplify the best of the Larceny and Elijah Craig brands. We’d love to give you tasting notes for this one, but well, we had a little two much fun on this pick to cobble them together. Instead, you’ll have to trust us when we say that all three barrels live up to the "Wanted" nickname we gave them!

If you’re a distiller or producer and offer single barrels of your bourbon or American Whiskey products, hit us up here.

Distillers, Producers, and Retailers: If you would like to be a part of this program and get your name in front of millions of bourbon enthusiasts, contact us.

Please note these bottles will not be sold by Breaking Bourbon, but will be sold by retailers we partner with in order to fulfill the orders and ship the bottles directly to Patreon supporters. Breaking Bourbon will receive no compensation from our partner retailers under these agreements (with the exception of a bottle from each barrel for editorial purposes). If you represent a retailer and ship to consumers and you’re interested in partnering just let us know!
