Fireside Bottled in Bond Bourbon Batch 3 offers a pine note consistent with the first batch, but leans towards sweeter flavors and a thick mouthfeel delivering a satisfying sip.
Mile High Spirits is a Denver based distillery that has been producing spirits for a number of years. The company is known for combining their passion for whiskey with their passion for live entertainment. It’s a unique distillery experience that we profiled in September 2021. This is the third batch of the distillery’s Bottled in Bond Bourbon, and showcases a new bottle design (possibly because of the recent glass shortage) that is shorter and changes to a screw top as opposed to a cork.
Similar to the first batch, Batch 3 highlights a unique combination of flavors that is present throughout, including the distillery’s quintessential pine note. However, this batch leans a bit more towards sweet flavors including honey, caramel, and graham cracker, with less spice present as it transitions from the palate to the finish. It’s quite drinkable as a result, and offers a thick, almost heavy mouthfeel. It’s a solid bottled in bond bourbon that offers a unique flavor profile and satisfyingly robust sip. At $50, it’s worth seeking out.
