Press Release

LEXINGTON, Ky., September 19, 2024— Town Branch Distillery, the main distilling arm of Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., the only brewery and distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail®️, announces its latest full-time whiskey release after teasing consumers with limited availability this past weekend at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, Kentucky.  Aimed to create overproof cocktails at the bar and at home this whiskey will be available nationwide at 104 proof, non-chill filtered and blended from four unique types of Kentucky Straight Whiskey (SRP $39.99 / 750ml).

Town Branch®️ Overproof Kentucky Straight Whiskey – 104 Proof

Town Branch Distillery is celebrated as the first new distillery to open in Lexington, Kentucky, since Prohibition. Since its founding, the distillery has gained acclaim for its Bourbon Whiskey and diverse American whiskey styles, including Rye, Single Malt, and Finished Whiskeys. Now, Town Branch is making its debut in the American Blended Whiskey category with an exciting new release.

Town Branch Overproof Whiskey is designed with the bar in mind from a packaging perspective, but also taking into context today’s consumption preferences leaning towards higher proof offerings. While the distillery’s iconic square-rectangular bottle has served well for collectors, back bars and retail shelves, it has faced limitations in the fast-paced bar environment. “This new bottle design is more than just a visual update; it’s a nod to the modern needs of bartenders and whiskey lovers who value both functionality and style,” said Robert Krass, Managing Director at Town Branch Distillery. “We’re also proud to offer a whiskey that not only excels in concept but also meets the evolving preferences of today’s drinkers.”

The whiskey is a meticulously crafted blend of four distinct Kentucky Straight Whiskeys: Bourbon Whiskey, Wheated Bourbon Whiskey, Double Oak Whiskey, and Rye Whiskey. This blend delivers a rich and complex profile that sets it apart from traditional Bourbon and Rye, offering a bold yet nuanced drinking experience. Presented at 104 proof, Town Branch Overproof Whiskey is designed to enhance cocktails with concentrated flavors, providing body, texture, and structure.

"We designed this whiskey with bartenders and the amazing drinks they craft in mind.  The 90/10 blend of bourbon to rye was formulated with the versatility in mind to be poured into any cocktail, which we hope inspires the continued exploration of new, higher proof creations," said Mark Lyons, CEO and the seventh generation of the Lyons' family heritage in brewing, distilling and cooperage."

Inspired by the concept of an American Blend for the American Bartender, Town Branch Overproof Whiskey offers consumers access to a unique blend of specialty whiskeys at a price point that makes it a compelling choice for an everyday drinker.
