Rare Bird 101
LOUISVILLE, KY (January 14, 2025) – The WoodWork Collective and David Jennings, spirits author and founder of Rare Bird 101, are proud to announce the continuation of Raconteur Rye with Batch 3, “Miz Kiss.” This unique small-batch, barrel-proof rye whiskey will be available in limited quantities February 2025 at a suggested retail price of $129.99.
Unlike like first two Indiana distilled releases, Raconteur Rye “Miz Kiss” is a combination of two Kentucky distilled “95/5” rye whiskeys, each aged a minimum of eight years: straight rye whiskey aged in new charred oak and straight rye whiskey finished in Mizunara casks that previously held “Brazen,” Raconteur Rye’s second batch. Bottled uncut and unfiltered at 118.2 proof (59.1% Alc./Vol.), Raconteur Rye “Miz Kiss” offers a genuine straight-from-the-barrel sipping experience.
Crafting the third release of Raconteur Rye proved a fun and rewarding task. Whereas the first and second batches required a fair amount of focus and recalibration, Batch 3 seemed to fall into place on its own. “We knew we had something special from the start,” remarked Jennings. “I’ve been a fan of 95/5 rye from Bardstown, Kentucky since the first time I tasted it in 2022. All that was needed to give it that signature Raconteur Rye character was a kiss of Mizunara.” Jennings, along with James Symons of The WoodWork Collective, carefully tasted through each barrel to determine which were best suited for a secondary maturation. “James and I had a relatively easy time constructing this batch,” said Jennings. “His experience with cask finishes was invaluable – particularly his familiarity with Mizunara, which shines in the elegance of this release.”
Raconteur Rye “Miz Kiss” is limited to approximately 637 bottles (750ml) and will be available at BourbonOutfitter.com and select online retailers in early February. For additional information visit RaconteurRye.com. Please drink responsibly.
