Press Release

COLUMBUS, KY (December 12, 2024) O.H. Ingram River Aged is continuing to make waves in the whiskey industry and today the team behind the original floating rickhouses is incredibly excited to share big news on two fronts.

The first major announcement is that Ingram River Aged was recently successful in asking Columbus voters to grant it an exemption to the dry county laws of Hickman County. This makes Ingram River Aged’s purchase of the former Iron Banks Lodge and the surrounding 24 acres of idyllic land overlooking the Mississippi River the perfect place for the next chapter of the brand.

The second announcement is that Sean Madden has joined the team as Portfolio Manager for Georgia and East Tennessee. Madden has decades of experience executing strategic sales campaigns and will focus on growing Ingram River Aged’s on- and off-premise footprint in these areas.

“Sean is a wonderful addition, and we’ve already seen his impact in the marketplace,” said Founder Hank Ingram. “At a time when many folks in our industry are having to make tough decisions, we are grateful to have some really positive news and are excited to bring it to life. What we have in store for our Columbus acreage is still not quite ready for primetime, but we can't wait to share more of this special place and our unique aging process with everyone. I want to thank the good people of Columbus for their support. The wind is definitely behind our sails right now, and 2025 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet.”

Inside the original floating rickhouses, barrels of O.H. Ingram whiskies spend their years exposed to the magic of the Mississippi River. The motion of the river, its high humidity, and natural daily heat cycling ensure that the whiskey never stops working. We call it Mellowed on the Mississippi.

About O.H. Ingram River Aged

O.H. Ingram River Aged was founded in 2015, when Hank Ingram pioneered the first permanent floating rickhouses to age award-winning whiskies in Western Kentucky.

Moored on the banks of the Mississippi River in Columbus, KY, O.H. Ingram River Aged’s rickhouses were custom built inside former grain barges. They now house a 2-story barrel maturation operation that never leaves the water. While having a similar look to those on land, Ingram’s rickhouses have a very different feel.

O.H. Ingram River Aged is the only whiskey in the world that spends its entire life on the Mississippi River – years of exposure to the microclimate and humidity of the river, along with its constant motion, creates complexity through a unique interaction between whiskey and oak.

Presently available on shelves in Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, as well as online via Seelbach’s, O.H. Ingram offers a bourbon, rye, straight whisky, limited release Flagship and a single barrel program. Additional markets will come as inventory allows through R.S. Lipman.
