Press Release

Austin, TX (February 4, 2025)-Garrison Brothers, Texas’ first legal whiskey distillery, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) are proud to announce a new collaboration that kicks off on Saturday, March 1, with a special event at the distillery to celebrate all things Texas.

In a renewed effort to help conserve Texas’ beautiful lands, waters, and wildlife, on March 1, Garrison Brothers will be releasing 1,000 bottles of limited edition Balmorhea Cask Strength for sale, hand selected by Master Distiller Donnis Todd, from 11 single barrels, only available at the distillery, to raise funds for TPWF’s efforts. In addition, beginning in March 2025, Garrison Brothers’ award-winning Balmorhea, an expression that is available year-round, will be distributed in Texas only.

“For the second year in a row, Garrison Brothers has chosen TPWF as a beneficiary of its Texas Independence Day celebration proceeds, and we greatly appreciate their generous support of our mission through the years,” said TPWF Executive Director Anne Brown. “It’s fitting that a whiskey named after Texas’ iconic oasis in the desert will help conserve the wild things and wild places of Texas.”

Garrison Brothers’ Balmorhea Bourbon Whiskey, originally released in 2017, is one of their most award-winning expressions and is named after Texas’ Balmorhea State Park Swimming Pool, the world's largest spring-fed pool. At original launch, sales raised money to help restoration efforts of the pool with $5 from every bottle devoted to that project. Lovingly referred to as “bourbon candy in a bottle” by Master Distiller Donnis Todd, Balmorhea, Texas Straight Bourbon Whiskey, is twice barreled—aged four years in new American white oak barrels, then transferred to a second new American white oak barrel and aged one additional year. For 2025, Garrison Brothers’ award-winning Balmorhea will only be available in the state of Texas.

“Garrison Brothers Balmorhea Bourbon Whiskey, at 115 proof, twice-barreled, is true celebration of Texas freedom. Since day one, Balmorhea has been making an impact in Texas and beyond. Now in its eighth year, the distinct cherry mahogany bold bourbon, majestically crafted, plays a coveted role in our permanent collection,” adds Donnis Todd, Master Distiller, Garrison Brothers.

Garrison Brothers’ Balmorhea retails for $179.99 and the limited edition Balmorhea Cask Strength, only available at the distillery event on March 1, will retail for $230.00 with $50 of each sale going to support Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.

On Texas Independence Day, Garrison Brothers also celebrates 15 years of selling Texas bourbon to the world, with the first bottle being sold in 2010.
