Buffalo Trace Distillery
FRANKFORT, KY (November 10, 2025) - This fall, Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon will embark on an expanded partnership with the Buffalo Field Campaign, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting America’s last wild bison and preserving their habitat in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Together, they invite bourbon lovers to slow down and savor the journey with Perfectly Untamed, a once-in-a-lifetime tasting experience set deep in the perfectly untamed wilds of Wyoming – home to what may be the most remote and exclusive tasting room in America.
Custom-built on the open plains, the tasting room’s floor-to-ceiling glass walls offer sweeping views of wild buffalo roaming freely just beyond. Far removed from the noise and hustle of the modern world, guests are invited to slow down and savor the unmistakable taste of tradition – crafted with care, patience and purpose.
“Our distillery was founded where the buffalo crossed the Kentucky river, and our flagship bourbon pays tribute to the paths they carved around the US frontier,” said Andrew Duncan, Global Brand Director, Buffalo Trace Distillery. “With Perfectly Untamed, we set out to build more than a tasting room – we wanted to build a place where time could stand still. Deep in the perfectly untamed Wyoming wilderness, guests will sip as buffalo roam free, a reminder that there is still room for power, determination, and a little reflection.”
Beginning November 13, bourbon fans 21 and older can pre-register at untamed.buffalotracedistillery.com for a chance to reserve their barstools for this private tasting experience, set to debut in Spring 2026. Once reservations are confirmed, a $500 donation to the Buffalo Field Campaign is required to finalize participation and support their vital work to protect America’s last wild bison.
“We’re proud to continue our collaboration with Buffalo Trace in a way that highlights not just the beauty of wild bison country, but the importance of public awareness and preservation of the habitat,” said Justine Sanchez, Buffalo Field Campaign President of the Board of Directors. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to protecting America’s last wild buffalo.”
The highly exclusive experience is limited to six total reservations, with each reservation accommodating two guests: the primary registrant and their chosen companion. Guests will enjoy a private, two-hour guided Buffalo Trace Bourbon tasting complete with curated cocktails and storytelling from the Distillery’s VIP Visitor Lead & Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee Freddie Johnson, set in the remote Wyoming wilderness with no other guests present. Scheduled across two days with three sessions per day, the experience unfolds at an intentional, unhurried pace – mirroring the patience behind every barrel.
Inside the glass-walled tasting room, guests will discover a fully private bar and expert-led tastings in a space that reflects Buffalo Trace’s enduring spirit – rooted in craftsmanship, perseverance and respect for the untamed.
Final dates will be confirmed (early winter 2026). Pre-registered guests will be contacted then to confirm their reservation and schedule their adventure. Guests will also receive a $1,000 travel stipend and curated lodging recommendations to assist with their journey.
