Blue Run Spirits
GEORGETOWN, KY (JULY 7, 2021) – Blue Run Spirits’ Best in Category and Double Gold-awarded 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon is now available at select retailers in the U.S., with a special offering for online whiskey fans nationwide. In addition to the retail product, a limited number of special “Reserve” bottles will be made available only through BlueRunSpirits.com on July 7th at 3:00 pm Eastern.
“We are very pleased to be able to offer a special Reserve bottling of our award-winning 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon to our fans outside our current distribution states,” said Mike Montgomery, CEO of Blue Run Spirits. “Our 13.5-Year-Old Single Barrels that were released in May sold out online in minutes, so we want to thank our online customers for their voracious support of Blue Run.”
Blue Run 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon snagged top honors at the prestigious 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition winning Best Small Batch Bourbon – 11 Years & Older, along with a Double Gold Medal. Blue Run 13.5-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon was awarded Best Single Barrel Bourbon – 11 Years & Older, as well as a Double Gold Medal. Blue Run’s Rye Whiskey, an upcoming fall release, received a Gold Medal.
Jim Rutledge, Blue Run’s Liquid Advisor, approved the barrels that comprise this limited, small batch Bourbon. In addition to the brand’s characteristic smooth and mellow flavor; a long, sweet and dry finish; little to no burn on the back end and a long tail, fine whiskey fans can expect a nose of baking spices followed by a wash of Anaheim pepper. The first taste is buttery, French toast cooked in a pan that recently fried breakfast sausages, giving way to a hint of white pepper, slightly tart Rainier cherries, and a pop of caramel to finish. These flavors are most pronounced in the Reserve bottling.
Blue Run 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon (113 proof) is available at retail for $199.99 SRP. Blue Run 14-Year-Old Small Batch Bourbon Reserve (113 proof) will be available online only for $249.99 SRP on July 7th.
Blue Run has a number of new and exciting whiskies coming soon, including its first Rye in early September and a high-rye Bourbon in October. Additionally, Blue Run will be distilling and laying down new fill at Bardstown Bourbon Company this year, with Jim Rutledge serving as the distiller for these specific products as he did for last year’s distillation at Castle & Key Distillery.
Blue Run Spirits was launched last year by a group of friends and Bourbon lovers – a Nike designer (McKinney), Facebook’s first director-level employee, a hospitality executive, a political advisor and a philanthropist – that seeks to evolve the Bourbon industry, creating fine products for the modern whiskey fan. Understanding that could never happen without exceptional whiskies, they teamed with Jim Rutledge, a 50+ year whiskey veteran who serves as the brand’s liquid advisor.
Blue Run Spirits’ distribution partners include Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) in Kentucky; Breakthru Beverage Group in Illinois and Colorado; Savannah Distributing Company in Georgia; Advintage Distributing in South Carolina and Tennessee; Prestige-Ledroit Distributing Co. in Washington D.C., Maryland and Delaware; American Spirits Exchange in California; and Evergreen Beverage Canada in Canada.

ABOUT BLUE RUN SPIRITS
Blue Run Spirits is a new kind of spirits company, creating a unique luxury proposition by tapping into the deep heritage and craft that makes a truly great whiskey, then elevating it through a modern design and marketing lens to reach a younger, broader and more diverse whiskey drinker. The company’s founders include a Nike designer, the first director-level employee at Facebook, a hospitality executive, a political advisor, and a philanthropist – all huge whiskey fans and individuals who acutely understand how to build demand and buzz for a contemporary consumer product. They are backed by a team of advisors including Nike marketing experts; the Campari communications veteran behind the U.S. launch of Espolòn Tequila and the Aperol Spritz; a former spirits distributor; and others with deep industry experience. The Blue Run name is a nod to one of our founder’s upbringing in Georgetown, KY, where Bourbon began in the Bluegrass State.
